The South side of the Codz-Poop structure in Kabah

The South side of the Codz-Poop structure in Kabah showing the recent excavations made by INAH archaeologist Lourdes Toscano. Inside an inner chamber, is a basal decoration of skulls and skeletal torsos. Arq. Toscano also found evidence of a ritual that involved fire in front of that chamber.

Detail of the recently excavated South side of the Codz-Poop in Kabah. A carved skeletal torso with a heart is part of the basal decoration of an inner chamber in the southern end of the building.
